EDUC 332 - Single Cameral TV Operation :: October 6, 2006

Show time!

Project 1 is due today, and I'd like us to view them all.

The Basics

Be organized, label the tapes, black the tape, create a shot log, bump and back it up. All these nags and several more are in Chapter 2 of the Digital Video Pocket Guide.

Exporting and Saving Projects

By now you should know how to export a standard QuickTime file from your projects. But there are other destinations, such as tape or the Web. We'll look in Chapter 16 for those exercises.

Also, you will want a strategy for saving large project files, both as back up and archive.

Project

Save a copy of your Project 1 for the Web. You may use Final Cut Express or iMovie.

Pitches

You should have your storyboards ready for the final project. Tell us what you're going to do and get advice on how to proceed.

Free Lab

Explore the following topics:

Voice Over

Scrolling Credits

Subclips (really, all of Chapter 11)

Test

Yes, there will be a test of basic editing skills. In order to pass this test your computer must have the book files copied to it's hard drive and you must be able to do perform the basic editing functions covered in class.
