OK, this will be the hard work of the day. We'll go through VQS chapter 8 and see if we can't make a usable template for your final project. This is hard work, but the end result will be quite sophisticated.

Templates, Library Items and Assets
- Templates are the single most time saving part of using Dreamweaver. At least, they are once your site starts getting very large. We will work together in Chapter 16 to develop a template from your existing Personal2 site. Then we will apply changes to see how templates work.
- Library Items are sections that may be placed in web pages repeatedly, and therefore work saving as a unit and applying. For instance, my "return to top" links on this page are Library Items. We'll make a simple one to appy throughout your site.
- The Assets Panel gives you access to templates, library items and a whole lot more in Dreamweaver. It is well to know where it is and what it does.
Tasks to Work On
Personal Web Site
Continue to develop site with templates and extensive CSS.
Start integrating pictures. How about some icons to give your site a "look". Also, include a picture of yourself, or perhaps other scanned photos that promote your message.
Final Projects
We will discuss this in class and see what you want to do in the remaining 5 sessions. The following items should then be completed ASAP:
- Concept statement
- List of needed resources
- Site prototype
- Interface design
